Zodiac (Winter, 2015)
These large-scale charcoal drawings were based on a brief investigation of ancient, folkloric symbols that were once seen (and, perhaps, still are seen) as highly scientific.
I placed several of them together in each composition to see how they felt. The overall compositions are both harsh and soft. Dramatic and calm. Fearful and comforting.
I only did three.
